Teacher's Gifts
Traditionally, each class presents their teacher with a gift at the end of the school year. The head room parent should contact the class parents and children to determine what gift should be given and how it should be presented. This process should begin about a month prior to the end of the school.
To Do:
- The head room parent should discuss with other parents as to what gift would be appropriate for their teacher.
- Once the decision has been made on what to buy, the head room parent should find out the cost of the gift and figure out how much needs to be collected from each family.
- The head room parent sends home a written notice with each child informing the families what the gift will be, the cost for each family, who is collecting the money and when it is needed. Follow-up phone calls may be necessary to collect all the funds.
- You should have your total collection a week before school ends.
- Purchase the gift and card.
- Circulate the card to allow the children to sign it (if possible).
- Present the gift on the last day of school.
Examples of end of the year gifts:
- Gift certificates
- Scrip of any kind
- Flower arrangements
- Plaques
- Gift baskets (pre-made or home made)
- Class project
