1st Grade

My name is Jessica Dolin, and I am thrilled to be the new 1st grade teacher at Christ the King School this year!  I attended Catholic school for nine years in Northern California as a child, and am excited to now have the opportunity to teach in the Catholic community.  I  graduated from the University of California Davis in 2005 with a B.A. in psychology, and am currently finishing my Masters in Elementary Education at the University of Washington.  I completed a year-long teaching internship in kindergarten at Bailey Gatzert Elementary in the Seattle School District last year, and am excited to be moving on to 1st grade this year.  I live in North Seattle with my husband and our two cats, and enjoy live music, camping, hiking and traveling.

I am very passionate about early childhood literacy, and will be placing an emphasis on integrating literacy throughout our 1st grade curriculum.  I believe that each and every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn, and will be tailoring my instruction to meet the needs all of my students.  I welcome parent volunteers both in and out of the classroom, and please feel free to contact me if you would ever like to meet with me before or after school.  I am always available by email, and will be checking it multiple times throughout the day.
