“Loving God and Neighbor”

Theme for  2010-2011

Welcome to Christ the King School (CKS).  Thank you for your interest in a Catholic education at CKS.  Our students, teachers, parents, staff, and Pastor are proud of the continued growth in a relationship with our Lord, the academic successes, the many physical activities, the integration of the arts, and the respectful manner the community treats each other.  You are invited to join the CKS community.

During this school year our students, teachers, parents, and staff are centering on “Loving God and Neighbor” through acts of stewardship, thanksgiving for all of God’s gifts, giving to the needs of others, showing forgiveness, and welcoming the new life in God’s creation.  Each Monday morning opens with a Prayer Service where students are guided to focus their week on God, their learning, and the appropriate treatment of each other.  The week ends on Friday with a Mass celebrated by Father Raymond Cleaveland.

Students at Christ the King benefit from the instruction of a group of highly qualified teachers who are all certificated by the state of Washington with many of them holding Master’s degrees.  A well-developed curriculum in all academic, physical, and performing/visual arts areas bring out the individual gifts of each of the students.  Teachers use the latest technology to present their lessons while the students respond utilizing technology as a tool in the learning process.  In preschool, the primary grades, the intermediate grades and in the middle school students are held to a high set of expectations where students perform to their best potential.  Students graduating from eighth grade apply and are accepted at the Catholic high schools of their choice.

Parents are paramount in the learning of their students.  At Christ the King parents are encouraged to be a part of the learning process.  Many parents volunteer in the classrooms, coordinate after school interest groups such as the Jump Rope Camp, coach teams, drive on field trips, check grades online with their students, and help with homework.  Recognizing that parents at CKS work hard to send their students to a Catholic school many participate in activities and events that help the school become “better in our hearts, minds and spirits”.

You are invited to call and schedule a tour to find out more about the quality education at Christ the King School.
