Christ the King School (CKS) is a small school with large achievements.
Our WASL scores have been significantly higher than those of the Seattle and Shoreline public schools for the past five years. Our students have also received national attention in the areas of math, science and writing. One factor is our small class sizes which insure each child receives individual attention. Another is our excellent, dedicated teaching staff.
We are a community school where our students are taught acceptance and respect for others and to embrace and enjoy the diversity of our school. CKS is a Catholic school, but 12% of our students come from other faiths. CKS is also racially diverse with the minority population accounting for 34% of the school. Service to others is highly stressed at CKS with the students raising funds for disasters, collecting food for local food drives and performing outreach to migrant workers in Washington State.
The thing that really ties it all together at CKS is sense of community. As early as Kindergarten, students are paired with older students as "buddies." Older students help younger students master skills necessary to complete projects. Parents are intimately involved in school activities; everything from being class aides to fundraising, from driving children on field trips to serving on School Commission.
We hope you consider applying to our school. We currently have openings in pre-school, elementary and middle school.
